# Commit!!! — ready-to-post social set

> Status: owner-review drafts. Every post below references a mechanic that
> **actually exists in the build** (MARKETING.md's ⚠️ rule — don't advertise
> what isn't there). Pair each with its listed visual from this kit. Alt text
> is included — always post it (accessibility + reach).
> Visuals live in: `../screenshots/` (`01_…`–`08_…`) and `./` (`card_*.png`,
> `og.png`, `square_1080.png`).

## X / Bluesky (main drumbeat)

### 1 — The minigame (pin this one)
**Visual:** `../screenshots/02_pulse_minigame.png`
**Alt:** A retro terminal timing bar with red, yellow, green and cyan zones; a cursor swings across it.

Manual work in Commit!!! is a timing minigame.

Ace every phase: flawless commit, zero debt.
Clip the yellow: it still ships — but the debt is yours forever.

Just like prod.

### 2 — Friday deploy
**Visual:** `card_friday.png`
**Alt:** Terminal-styled quote card: "Shipped a hotfix Friday at 5pm. The game punished me exactly as much as real life would."

Shipped a hotfix Friday at 5pm.
The game punished me exactly as much as real life would.

### 3 — The commit
**Visual:** `card_commit.png`
**Alt:** Terminal-styled card showing the command git commit -m "my whole life" and the output "47 files changed, 1200 insertions(+), 3 sleepless nights(-)".

`git commit -m "my whole life"`

47 files changed, 1,200 insertions(+), 3 sleepless nights(−)

### 4 — The feed
**Visual:** `../screenshots/05_feed.png`
**Alt:** The in-game DevWire feed, a retro terminal timeline of posts by fictional developers.

The in-game feed rewards hot takes with followers — and dunks your reputation into the floor for bad ones.

Any resemblance to real platforms is intentional.

### 5 — Autocomplete Goblin
**Visual:** `../screenshots/01_day_planner.png`
**Alt:** The game's day planner: a retro terminal screen of work, study and rest actions with player stats on the right.

The free AI assistant is called Autocomplete Goblin.

It writes code fast. It also leaves "residue".
You will learn what residue is. At 2am. During an incident.

### 6 — Every job
**Visual:** `../screenshots/06_jobs.png`
**Alt:** A job-listings screen in a retro terminal style, showing openings at a startup, an enterprise, and an agency.

Every job in Commit!!! comes with its own codebase, its own debt, and its own way of ruining your Tuesday.

### 7 — Rent day
**Visual:** `../screenshots/07_end_of_day.png`
**Alt:** An end-of-day summary modal over a dimmed terminal screen, listing the day's outcomes.

Your bank balance and your nerves are both stats.
Only one of them refills overnight.

(Rent is due every Sunday.)

### 8 — The cat
**Visual:** `../screenshots/04_inbox_event.png`
**Alt:** An event window in a retro terminal game with pixel-art banner art.

Random events include "cert expiry", "dependency chaos", and "the cat walks across your keyboard".

One of these is not based on a true story.

### 9 — Offer Brink
**Visual:** `../screenshots/03_pulse_results.png`
**Alt:** A results panel over a timing-bar minigame in a retro terminal style.

Salary negotiation is a minigame with a brink. Push the number one notch too far and the offer is rescinded.

We did not invent this mechanic. Reality did.

### 10 — The legends
**Visual:** `../screenshots/05_feed.png` (or a ceremony shot once one exists)
**Alt:** The in-game feed, where ten legendary fictional coders post.

Ten legendary coders watch *how* you ship, not what you ship.

What impresses each of them is never spelled out anywhere.
One of them stamps LGTM on your soul.

## r/ProgrammerHumor

**Title:** I made a game where the final boss is the legacy monolith
**Visual:** `card_commit.png` (first post) — keep the GIF/clip version for the real strike (see MARKETING.md: this sub is a one-shot moment).
**Body (short):** It's a career sim. Four commit slots a day, a timing minigame to ship anything, debt that compounds while you sleep, and rent due every Sunday. Called it Commit!!!

## LinkedIn

**Visual:** `../screenshots/06_jobs.png`
**Alt:** as post 6.

Excited to announce I've gamified burnout.

Commit!!! is a career sim with performance-linked pay: miss your weekly evaluation and your salary gets docked. String together good weeks and you earn a raise — capped, obviously. We're not monsters. We're HR.

## TikTok / YT Shorts (scripts for the clip pass — visuals become 15–30s clips later)

1. **Friday deploy:** cold open on the day planner Friday evening → ship dirty choice → weekend incident event → stress meter maxes. Text overlay: "the game knows what you did".
2. **AI residue:** subscribe to the free AI → delegate a phase → False Green zone reveal → "the AI said it was fine" overlay.
3. **The brink:** salary negotiation → number climbs → one notch too far → OFFER RESCINDED → hard cut to rent-due notification.

## Show HN

Use the draft in `MARKETING.md` unchanged (it's already right) — fire only when the demo exists. One shot.

## Cadence reminder (from MARKETING.md)

- ~1 clip/post a week pre-launch; attach a visual to EVERY post.
- Never a bare store link in r/programming — humor/value first, link in comments.
- The three one-shot moments (Show HN, Next Fest demo, launch-day email) stay holstered until their day.
